ABOUT JAMIE

Jamie is an emerging Canadian country artist with a passion for storytelling and a sound that bridges the gap between traditional country roots and modern influences. Born and raised on Cape Breton Island, Jamie grew up surrounded by music, drawing inspiration from both classic country legends and contemporary Nashville songwriting. His music blends heartfelt lyrics, rich melodies, and an authentic connection to life’s highs and lows.

In 2024, Jamie released his self-titled debut EP, featuring standout singles Long Live Cool and Olivia. Long Live Cool, is a nostalgic tribute to growing up around his dad who is a singer and musician as well, highlighting the impact of music on Jamie’s sense of style and identity. Meanwhile, Olivia explores the struggles of a one-sided relationship, showcasing Jamie’s ability to translate raw emotions into compelling songs.

Beyond the studio, Jamie has been carving out a strong presence on stage, performing at renowned events like the legendary Halifax Urban Folk Festival and selling out his first headlining show at the iconic Carleton in Halifax, Nova Scotia, to celebrate his EP release. Backed by his talented band, his live performances deliver a dynamic yet intimate experience, captivating audiences with his authentic passion and heartfelt storytelling.

As his fanbase continues to grow, Jamie remains dedicated to crafting songs that speak to the heart. With an ever-expanding presence on social media and a commitment to sharing his journey, Jamie Fontaine is quickly becoming one of Canada’s most exciting new voices in country music.

Jamie Fontaine packed them in at The Carleton to celebrate the release of his eponymous EP. Even with being a country artist, these songs all have solid cross-over appeal as each one packs a distinct classic rock vibe, and would make Jamie a solid addition to the Cavendish Beach or Sommo Music Festivals.
